They were thrilled to find out that Chess Piece was Laverne. Jenny even pointed out that they’d mentioned her before in the past.
After her unmasking,Laverne shared that she has so much trauma around singing, and herMasked Singerexperience made her feel that, maybe with a mask on, she could get over some of her fearsand work through some of the trauma. She shared that she didn’t even realize how deep it was until she started.
Laverne added that what was so much fun about Barbie Night was that she got to sing and dance like she did when she was a little kid, and it didn’t have to be right, and it didn’t have to be perfect. She just had fun.Laverne said that hopefully this is the beginning of her healing even more of that trauma. She said that, like she said about her Barbie, it’s never too late to have a happy childhood.
Laverne also shared thatit was a dream-come-true to have a Barbie modeled after her, after her clue package shared that fact about her. She even revealed that her actual Barbie doll was shown as one of her clues.
Laverne also said that, to be an openly trans, Black woman in the United States of America right now, she’s so incredibly blessed. However, she added that there are so many people out there right now who are struggling, and"we are human beings who deserve love and opportunities, and, like everybody, we all deserve that.“Laverne concluded her run on the show with a spirited reprise of “I’m Every Woman.”

The Masked Singerseason 12 Group C premiered on Who Are You Fest Night, during whichMacaron was unmasked and revealed to be award-winning professional surf legend, Bethany Hamilton, who lost her arm in 2003 due to a shark attack. Bethany’s Masked Ambassador was her friend, Willie Robertson, who wasThe Masked Singerseason 6’s Mallard.
As Macaron, Bethany sang an energetic version of “Call Me Maybe” by Carly Rae Jepsen. After her performance, the panelists offered some interesting guesses for her identity, including Ken’s guess, Gypsy Rose Blanchard, who Rita said she thought of too. However, Jenny thought that she might be Monica Lewinsky, which Rita agreed with. Robin mentioned Ariana Madix.
However, it was later revealed that Rita realized who Macaron was during the commercial break. She told Jenny that she thought that she was Bethany.
