Before he returned inStar Wars: The Clone Wars, he was revived for a fascinating, non-canon comic called “Old Wounds” by Aaron McBride, where he tracks Ben Kenobi to Tatooine. Concept art developed forStar Wars: Episode I - The Phantom MenaceandSolo: A Star Wars Storyshow radically different versions of Maul or illustrate him with alternate costumes and weapons.
Even the canceled Darth Maul stories still have potential, despite no longer fitting into the officialStar Warscanon.
