The upcoming A24 drama will follow a story about a ping pong player, withJosh Safdie, who was formerly known as part of theSafdie Brothers, directing it. Varietyreleased the first behind-the-scenes images ofMarty Supreme. In the photos,Chalamet wears a navy blue vest over a short-sleeved shirt, and dark-colored pantsin what looks to be a 1950s-style outfit. He also sports small glasses and a mustache with slicked-back, short hair.

While Safdie has directed solo projects before, it will be the first time the director has done so since 2008. It will also beSafdie’s first solo directorial venture since the announcement of the creative split with brother Benny. We have already seen some of what Benny can do on his own through his work onThe Curseand acting inOppenheimer. Josh, on the other hand, has been less active, making the quality of his solo work an enticing unknown forMarty Supreme.
