More Rewards & More Information About Colter’s Past
ThoughTrackervery much follows a classic procedural format, it is unique because it also employs an overarching narrative. This makes predicting what happens in season 3 both easy and difficult. However, it’s assumed thatthese cases will continue to bring him up against shadowy criminals, strange cults, and put his life in mortal danger.
Besides Colter’s rewards, the series has also strung along a fascinating mystery about Colter’s strange childhood, including the mystery behind the death of his father. With the reveal at the end of season 2 that a friend of Ashton’s, Otto Waldron, killed Ashton at the request of Mary-Dove, the mystery has only deepened.

Showrunner Elwood Reid confirmed that season 3 will delve ever more deeply into that mystery, revealing that it will start to be unraveled:
“We pose several questions in the season opener that will reverberate throughout the season. It’s not just who killed his father — something we revealed in the finale — but what drove his father to ‘lose it’ — what dark forces were at play that pushed Colter’s mother to come to the conclusion that she felt she had to leave him to save the kids and her own sanity. Colter will put the pieces of that together this season.”
