One ofUma Thurman’s best and most memorable roles is Beatrix Kiddo/The Bride in Quentin Tarantino’sKill Billmovies, and now she finally has a great follow-up to it thanks to the sequel to a popular horror crime TV show. Uma Thurman has shown her acting range and different skills throughout her acting career, which started in 1987 with the psychological thrillerKiss Daddy Goodnight. Thurman gained praise for her role in the 1988 dramaDangerous Liaisons, but her big break arrived in 1994 with Quentin Tarantino’sPulp Fiction.
Since then, Thurman has been part of several movies from various genres – from superhero movies withBatman & Robinto sci-fi withGattaca, more dramas likeLes Misérables, comedies likeMy Super Ex-Girlfriendand horror withThe House That Jack Built. Thurman also became Tarantino’s muse and reunited with him for the two-part martial arts action movieKill Bill. Now, Thurman has a new project that’s part of a horror crime franchise, giving her a great follow-up toKill Bill21 years after the second movie’s release.

Dexter: Resurrection Gives Uma Thurman Another Great Killer Franchise Like Kill Bill
Uma Thurman Is Joining Another Exciting Franchise
Uma Thurman has joined the cast ofDexter: Resurrection, the sequel series toDexter: New Blood, which is a continuation ofDexter. Developed by James Manos Jr.,Dexterpremiered on Showtime in 2006 and introduced the audience to Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall), a forensic technician specializing in blood spatter analysis who worksfor the Miami Metro Police Department. However,Dexter lives a double life as he’s also a vigilante serial killer, going after murderers who escaped punishment due to corruption or legal technicalities.
Dexterended in 2013 after eight seasons (and has one ofthe most controversial TV finales of all time), but the show was revived in 2020 with the 10-episode seriesNew Blood. The world ofDexterexpanded with the prequelOriginal Sin, and while it’s still airing on Showtime, the franchise is working on yet another sequel series, titledResurrection. The sequel will bring Hall back as Dexter, who will come face to face with Uma Thurman’s character, Charley.

Why Dexter Had Two Finales (And Still Missed The Perfect Ending)
Dexter has two of the most controversial series finales in TV history, but was there ever going to be a perfect ending for the character?
WhileDexterisn’t martial arts-related at all, it has some interesting similarities toKill Billthat make it a franchise worth following it up. Thurman’s Bride inKill Billhad a revenge mission that led her to track down and kill those who betrayed her and tried to kill her, including the title Bill (David Carradine). Dexter, on the other hand, is a vigilante serial killer, sothey both do their part in getting rid of dangerous people, though through questionable methods, while not necessarily being the villains in their stories.
Uma Thurman’s Character Description Hints She’ll Be Dexter’s Biggest Adversary In Resurrection
Uma Thurman’s Character In Dexter: Resurrection Can Bring A Couple Of Surprises
The announcement of Thurman’s casting arrived with a brief description of her character inDexter: Resurrection. Thurman’sCharley is a former Special Ops officer now serving as the Head of Security for a mysterious billionairenamed Leon Prater. It’s understood that Charley will be skilled at physical combat and be highly strategic due to her past, thus being an obstacle to Dexter. In a twist that would fit the show quite well,Charley could be a killer, becoming Dexter’s target, though a very intelligent and skilled one.
Thurman’s Charley could end up being a villain inDexter: Resurrection, which isn’t common in Thurman’s career. It’s going to be interesting to see Thurman as a potentially villainous or, at least, morally ambiguous character going face to face with Dexter Morgan himself, and hopefully,Dexter: Resurrectionwill give her the chance to show some of her action skills, as seen inKill Bill.
Dexter: Resurrection
Dexter: Resurrection follows Dexter Morgan as he awakens from a coma to discover his son, Harrison, missing. His search leads him to New York City, where he confronts his past and the challenges posed by Miami Metro’s Angel Batista, as father and son face their shared darkness.
