According to a new Marvel theory,Venom: The Last Dancecould connect to the MCU’sSpider-Man 4, setting up Peter Parker’srole inAvengers: Secret Wars. Audiences wondered when Tom Holland’s Spider-Man would return to theMCUfollowingSpider-Man: No Way Home. While his Homecoming trilogy has ended, it feels like a new chapter in his MCU journey is just getting started. His return could be happening soon asSpider-Man 4was recently confirmedwithShang-Chi’sDestin Daniel Cretton directing and Holland returning as the titular hero.

It’s still unclear what the story will be, and speculation has created many different options. Kevin Feige has said that Spider-Man will be a more street-level hero moving forward, but there are rumors that Sony wantsSpider-Man 4to be another multiverse project.Venom: Let There Be Carnageteased a possible crossoverbetween Holland’s Spider-Man and Tom Hardy’s Venom, but nothing has come from that. According to a theory, that could change soon as the events ofVenom 3could directly impact Spider-Man beforeAvengers 6.

Venom: The Last Dance Will Introduce Knull As A Powerful Villain

Knull is the dark creator of the symbiotes

The latesttrailer forVenom: The Last Danceteased an army of symbiotes coming to Earth. However, there is a more dangerous threat looming behind them. The trailer features a quick glimpse atKnull, a powerful dark deitywho is the creator of Venom and the other symbiotes. Knull was first introduced in 2018 as a God-like entity who the Celestials banished into the void after killing one of their own. In the comics, Knull is credited with creating the Necrosword, the same sword Gorr the God Butcher wielded inThor: Love and Thunder.

How Powerful Is Knull Compared To Thanos And Kang?

Knull is getting a live-action adaptation in Venom: The Last Dance, but how powerful is this villain when compared to the big bads of the MCU?

Knull discovered he could control other organisms by bonding with them, which led to the creation of the symbiotes. The symbiotes share a hive mind, controlled by Knull in the center. It’s safe to say thatKnull is the most powerful villain that Eddie and Venom will face in this franchise, and he will be too much for them to take on alone. Since there is no Spider-Man in their universe right now, they may need to look elsewhere for help, possibly in a universe they’ve already traveled to.

Spider-Man Gets The Black Symbiote Suit In His Battle With Knull

Marvel could give Spider-Man an iconic suit from the comics

Rumors have suggested thatSpider-Man 4could be a multiverse story, and it could be a crossover with Hardy’s Venom. According to a theory shared on Reddit by userCharles-Petrescu,The Last Danceends with Venom traveling to Earth-616, seeking help from the MCU’s heroes to fight Knull. After landing in New York, Spider-Man encounters Eddie, who warns him that Knull is coming. Spider-Man agrees to help Eddie fight the symbiote king but is easily overpowered by the dark deity.

During the final battle, Eddie sacrifices himself, so Peter can bond with Venom, doubling his power. The duo doesn’t kill Knull but does enough to knock him back into the void, hoping he can’t escape. In the battle’s aftermath,Spider-Man now has the black symbiote suit seen on the cover of the 1984Secret Warscomic book storyline. This theory could make sense asNo Way Homedid tease a symbiote in the MCU, and this is a perfect way to tie the MCU and Sony’s universe together while further developing Peter’s character arc.

Spider-Man 4 Could Perfectly Set Up His Role In Secret Wars

The black suit is a great way to adapt Marvel Comics

If this theory proves true,Spider-Man 4could be essential in setting up Peter forAvengers: Secret Wars. The symbiote suit has only been done once before in Sam Raimi’sSpider-Man 3, but it didn’t look like his black suit from theSecret Warsstoryline. Recreating the suit from the comics would be an excellent way to adapt the source material and give viewers something they want to see in a live-action film. It also brings Venom into the plot without tying the MCU to Sony’s messy Spider-Man universe.

Venom’s attachment to Spider-Man would also give him the power boost he needs beforeSecret Wars. Spider-Man could fight many of the most powerful heroes and villains from the Marvel multiverse, including Robert Downey Jr’s Doctor Doom. He will need a power upgrade if he wants any chance against many of these characters, and Venom is a logical way of enhancing his abilities. Sony has been looking to connect Spider-Man to its villains' universe for a while, andSpider-Man 4could be the perfect opportunity.
