Cable is a dark and gruff man who rarely has any time for anything other than completing his mission, and it seems Old Man Dylan is much the same.

Cable’s history is complicated, to put it mildly. He’s the child of Cyclops and Madelyne Pryor, and ends up being sent into a dark future where Apocalypse rules the world. Cable grew up in this miserable future and saw firsthand what would happen if Mutants and Humans never learned to get along. Eventually,Cable would end up traveling back to the presentand doing everything he could to avert the dark future he was in. Because of these events, Cable is a dark and gruff man who rarely has any time for anything other than completing his mission, and it seems Old Man Dylan is much the same.

Readers haven’t gotten to see much of Old Man Dylan or his future yet, but a few things are certain. The future Old Man Dylan comes from is horrific, with the majority of the world destroyed by these symbiote-machine hybrids. The situation seems so hopeless thatsending Dylan back in time is their final option, as evident by the fact every friend of Dylan’s is brutally murdered by the symbiote-machines as they try to buy him enough time to escape. They only did this because they realized if Dylan fixed the timeline, none of this would come to pass, which means they truly gave up on saving their time on their own.

Marvel’sVenomstorylines seem to keep getting more and more surprising, not to mention ambitious…and Dylan Brock’s new role is a further continuation of that.
