Summary

Warning: Spoilers Ahead for Marvel Studios' Deadpool & Wolverine and Marvel Comics' The Spectacular Spider-Men #6Deadpool’s Nicepoolvariant fromDeadpool& Wolverinemight have secretly made his official Marvel Comics debut with a cool new mask to boot.Deadpool & Wolverinehas been making waves with its heartfelt love letter to the fans. However, one of the most notable Deadpool variants to appear is Nicepool, a kinder version of the Merc with a Mouth. Now, it looks like he may have secretly made his first comic appearance without fans noticing.

In “Weapon X-Traction: Part Seven"by Ryan North and Javier Garrón, Deadpool and Wolverine are introduced to variants of themselves that Atleza Langunn, the Guardian of the Infinite Abyss, dubs to be superior to them in every way. She claims that “they’re more competent” and “more fun” than the 616 versions of the characters. However, the most interesting of the two is undeniably the superior Deadpool variant. He looks strikingly similar toNicepool fromDeadpool & Wolverinewith his chiseled features and long, blond hair.

Superior Deadpool (potentially Nicepool) in The Spectacular Spider-Men #6

It’s uncanny how close he looks to Nicepool, signaling that Marvel may have planned to make him canon in the comics since his introduction in the movie.

“Weapon X-Traction Part Seven” is part of a multi-part storyline at the end of various Marvel Comics. “Part Seven” can be found inThe Spectacular Spider-Man #6.

Superior Deadpool’s Personality Suggests He’s Nicepool, Not Just His Looks

Aside from his rigid good looks, the biggest evidence that Superior Deadpool is secretly Nicepool is how he interacts with Earth-616 Deadpool. The very first thing he tells the antihero is how he can improve his skincare routine, suggesting he take a crack at using “a facial moisturizer with built-in SPF.” It’s a huge burn for Deadpool because of how much it insults his appearance. However, the way Superior Deadpool delivers the line perfectly recaptures Nicepool’s personality from the film.

InDeadpool & Wolverine, Nicepool is shown as a far kinder version of Deadpool. He’s constantly giving compliments and doing his best not to stir the pot. However, this easily aggravates Deadpool because of how nice he is, leading to him using the variant as a human shield nearthe end of the movie. The fact that Superior Deadpool speaks in such a kind way is proof that this variant of the character could be Nicepool in disguise, and while he suffers a fatal death inDeadpool & Wolverine, that doesn’t stop him from sneaking his way into the comics.

Superior Deadpool (possibly Nicepool)’s Full Look with a Mask that Reveals His Jawline

Nicepool’s Potential New Look is Even Better than His Film Appearance

The Mask Hilariously Accentuates How Annoying He Can Be

“If this truly is [Nicepool’s] comic debut, his new mask accentuates his obnoxiousness in the best way possible.”

The absolute best detail about Superior Deadpool, however, is his mask. It’s simply a half-mask that only obscures his eyes to mimic the iconic Deadpool look.Everything else is fully exposed to show off his luxurious hair and chiseled jaw, emphasizing what makes Nicepool such a hilarious character inDeadpool & Wolverine. He serves as an annoyance for Deadpool because of how perfect he seems. He’s essentially the antithesis of what Deadpool is, and if this truly is his comic debut, his new mask accentuates his obnoxiousness in the best way possible.

Spectacular Spider-Men #6, Peter Parker, Miles Morales, Black Cat, Kingpin, Tombstone, Hammerhead & Mr. Negative

Of course, this won’t be the end of Superior Deadpool. The “Weapon X-Traction” storyline is expected to continue inX-Men#2, where he and Superior Wolverine will work to save the multiverse, so a reveal could be coming to show that he’s secretly Nicepool. Nevertheless, if this is the official debut of theDeadpoolvariant, it’s a brilliant introduction forNicepoolas Marvel embodies what made him so funny inDeadpool & Wolverinewith impeccable character and costume design.
