Shane Is Marlon Brando’s Grandson
There Were More Clues That Connect To Marlon
Shane’s clues all pointed to Marlon Brando, and he’s the late Oscar-winning actor and activist’s grandson. Shane had a strong connection with Michael Jackson because Shane’s father, Miko, who’s Marlon’s son, was Michael’s bodyguard. Marlon and Michael were close friends in the later years of Marlon’s life.
Mackenzie and Hud deciphered Shane’s Wine Room clue to mean,“Hollywood icon with Italian kingpin role,“which referred to Marlon’s Oscar-winning role as Vito Corleone inThe Godfather.Everything began to click as Hud remembered that Marlon starred in the filmApocalypse Nowwith Martin Sheen. He also realized that the spelling challenge clue, “Valkyrie,” referred to the song “Ride of the Valkyries,” which is featured inApocalypse Now.
Hud also realized that the statue of the sailor on the Clue Wall referred to Marlon’s role inOn the Waterfront, and the streetcar referencedA Streetcar Named Desire.DuringClaim to Fameseason 3 week 6, Hud had won a clue in the challenge, which read,“This actor’s character played an integral part in helping save Superman’s life as an infant in the original film.”
Hud realized that this clue referred to Marlon’s role in the originalSupermanfilm.Marlon played Jor-El, Superman’s biological father from Krypton. His character sent his infant son, Superman, known as Kal-El, to Earth before dying in the explosion that destroyed Krypton, which would explain how he saved Superman’s life in the original film.
There were other clues that theClaim to Fameseason 3 contestants didn’t connect to Marlon. In the week 3 telephone game, one of the limericks had the line,“His toga was in disarray.“This was most likely a reference to Marlon’s Oscar-nominated role as Mark Antony inJulius Caesar. In the week 5 senses challenge, the cannoli and spaghetti represented Marlon’s inThe Godfather.A famous line from the film is, “Leave the gun, take the cannoli.“Marlon also won another Oscar for his role inOn the Waterfront. In addition, Marlon was called, “Mr. Mumbles,” due to the way that he spoke when he acted.
Shane’s social media profiles also revealed that he was Marlon’s grandson. Although they were set to private during the show, both the Instagram and Facebook pages forShane Donovan Brandofeature a profile picture of Miko, Michael Jackson, and a youngShane. This makes sense because Miko was Michael’s bodyguard, and Shane spoke very highly of him throughoutClaim to Fameseason 3.
After Mackenzie correctly guessedthat Shane was related to Marlon, Shane introduced himself as Shane Donovan Brando, stating that Marlon was his grandpa. He shared that he grew up his whole life living with him, and he spent so much time with him. He said that he was very fortunate. Shane added that, in addition to being an actor,Marlon was also an activist who rejected one of his Oscars (forThe Godfather)in order to raise awareness for the way that Native Americans were portrayed in cinema in Hollywood.
Shane did a fantastic job keeping his identity a secret until the very end of the game. As he said in his confessional, if his fellow contestants hadn’t gotten his clue, they would never have figured out who he was. Shane also worked hard to figure out his fellow contestants' identities.
