Weapon X was one of the most impactful government-backed programs to the X-Men, turning Wolverine into the adamantium-clawed mutant many know him as while alsocreating some of the X-Men’s most brutal enemieslike Sabretooth and, later, the anti-hero Deadpool. Not only are these robotic beasts upgraded with experimental technology, but they also have the instincts to hunt and adapt. The Weapon X program was already a brutal experiment program, butwith the X-Men’s adversaries creating their own version of the Weapon X program, the hounds are only going to get worse.

X-Men Reveals the Sickening Secret Behind Its New Sentinels: They’re Alive

As X-Men revamps its killer robot Sentinels, Marvel reveals the terrifying new ‘ingredient’ that makes them deadlier than ever.

The bloodhounds use real animals to hunt down mutants, a villainous endeavor on its own, but Trask’s demonstration ofthe hounds shows another massive issue with the Sentinels, which is their sentience. The hounds can override their own programming, and it’s shown that once they do, they indiscriminately attack anyone in range, regardless of whether they are mutant or human, making them more than just a threat to the X-Men, but Earth as a whole. Should Trask deploy the hounds despite this glaring issue, which he most certainly will, it would spell a potential massacre for both mutants and humans.

The Bloodhound Sentinels Upgrade Makes The X-Men’s New Enemy A Nimrod-Level Threat

A New Horrifying Sentinel With Devastating Potential

The sentinel hounds gaining autonomy to sew carnage is far from the first time Sentinels have turned on their creatorand every time this has happened, the repercussions create a catastrophic event not just for mutants, but for the entire world. This instance of the hounds turning on their creators is very reminiscent ofFall of the House of X,when Nimrod turned on its creator to exterminate humanity. This time, however,Rogue’s young and inexperienced X-Men traineeslike Calico and Ransom are directly in the line of fire.

The likelihood this new project will backfire is incredibly high with the sentinels demonstrating they are not just the X-Men’s problem but humankind’s as well.

TheX-Men’s enemies of the current “From the Ashes” erahave showcased how immoral they’re willing to eradicate the X-Men and mutant-kind, and the bloodhounds are no exception to their cruelty. However, with the living bloodhounds' new ability to bypass their code and go on a rampage, the likelihood this new project will backfire is incredibly high, with the Sentinels demonstrating they are not just the X-Men’s problem, but humankind’s as well. This horrifying creation combines some of theX-Men’smost deadly threats, integrating sentinels with the infamous Weapon X programand the leering threat of Nimrod-level tyranny.
