The Undermined patch continues the main campaign story fromThe War Withinas players follow the trail of Xal’atath into the subterranean world of goblins. Why The City Of Undermine Is So Important To World Of Warcraft’s History
The Subterranean Goblin Capital Has A History
So far, the general theme for the trilogy of expansions known asWoW: The Worldsoul Sagaisexploring threads of lore from the past twenty yearsofWorld of Warcraft. This update is no different as it allows the legendary city, Undermine, to finally be accessible by players. Undermine is an underground city that at one time served as the capital for the inventive goblin race. Undermined will include a conflict between the four Goblin cartels: Steamwheedle, Blackwater, Bilgewater, and the Venture Company.
Historically, during the events inCataclysm, the underground city of Undermine was thought to have been destroyed by volcanic activity, and many of the goblins then evacuated to the surface of the Isle of Kezan. Over the years, however, there have been several hints that Undermine is still around and acting as the central location of activity for the various goblin cartels. Now, with patch 11.1 toThe War Within, it is confirmed that Undermine not only still exists, but is thriving in its secret subterranean location.

Two New Delves, A Dungeon, And A Raid Coming To Undermine
Chasing Xal’atath Leads To Some Dangerous Encounters
Of course, there can’t be a new area without some big multiplayer activities for players to sink their teeth into. Undermined will include newendgame content for playersin addition to the quests and story of the main city area.
Raid
“The Liberation of Undermine” will be a new eight-boss raid, fighting against Gallywix and his allies.
The Liberation of Undermineraid is said to take place on the streets of Undermineand into a large building called the Gallagio. The Gallagio is full of dark secrets that players may stumble across as they chase down the ex-Goblin leader, Gallywix and his associates. Meanwhile, the dungeon, Operation: Floodgate, gives players a chance to stop a group of goblins who are trying to destroy a dam.

Undermined will also include a new PvP Arena mapthat will be set within the city of Undermine. It offers a very steampunk and goblin theme to the atmosphere. Lights and bleachers surround the fighting pit, with green ooze dripping off of one of the light features. The entire arena exudes a sense of destruction, and will undoubtedly be the location for manycharacter deaths and resurrections.
Heroes Get A Customizable Car For Use In Undermine
And It Is Going To Be Fast
Flying mounts are all the rage inWoW, particularly with the addition ofskyriding, which can give these mountsa more realistic feeling. Undermined is going to shake that up a bit with its new D.R.I.V.E. system and incredibly fast car that players will get. In a way, it sounds as though the concepts used in skyriding are being tweaked for the ground togive players a chance to drive around Undermine as though they were in a racecar game.
Not only will players be able to customize the look of their car, but they will be given a chance to change its stats as well. These will include things likeacceleration, drifting, grip, boosts, and top speed. The ingenuity, and perhaps insanity, of the goblins offers a wholly unique approach to travel in the otherwise fantasy-rich experience of this universe that Azeroth is set in. While vehicles have been seen in other goblin areas, this D.R.I.V.E. system will be an entirely new feeling for players.
Driving through the streets of Undermine with these customized vehicles will be even more engaging with timed races available throughout the zone. Although it doesn’t sound as though the vehicle will be able to be used outside Undermine, at least with all its bells and whistles, it could end up being available in the future similar to how skyriding was expanded inWorld of Warcraft.
