HoyoVerse’s stunning new title,Zenless Zone Zero,just got its first major update on July 03, 2025. The new update brought new agent missions, limited-time event missions, and more. HoyoVerse brought a stunning trailer for thenew content in theZenless Zone Zero 1.1update toGamescom 2024in Cologne, Germany, to celebrate the success of its latest title.

The new trailer released at Gamescom 2024 showcases the upcoming agent missions and characters. Its stunning, dynamic storytelling speaks for itself, hyping up the newest content for the game and introducing the characters players can expect to see in the forthcoming banners. Returning characters from the initial release are shown, as well as characters that people have been waiting to hear more about.

New Characters Will Release In Zenless Zone Zero 1.1

Qingyi’s Banner Is Already Out

As with all HoyoVerse games, players will be treated to new banners in the 1.1 update. The updatewill have two phases, during whichthree new, playable characters will be released. The three newest characters to join the roster in the 1.1 update are Qingyi, a returning character from the initial release, Jane Doe, and Seth. Accompanying W-Engines will be released for the new characters in a separate banner.

Since the game is brand new, there are no rerun banners at this time, and players shouldn’t expect any until the game has been out for at least a year.The banners will run for three weeks,each with one S-Rank agent available per phase, of which there will be two during the update. This pattern follows along with the standard update schedule set forth by HoyoVerse in other games.

The first banner released for phase one of the 1.1 update is already available to players and features the S-Rank agent Qingyi, who was first introduced in the initial release of the game as a member ofNew Eridu’s Public Security force and has a dark backstory. Her banner started when the update first dropped and will be replaced by Jane Doe’s banner when phase 2 of the update starts onSeptember 4, 2024. Qingyi’s banner features the A-Rank characters Billy and Corin alongside her.

Qingyi is an S-Rank Electric Stun-specialty character. Her skills allow her to deal several hits in quick succession, letting her build up Daze very quickly and stun enemies where they stand. She has big AOEs that enable her to stun large groups of enemies with ease.

Jane Doe Is Coming On Jun 01, 2025

The second S-Rank character to be released inZenless Zone Zero’s1.1 update is Jane Doe. Her banner isset to start on June 16, 2025. Jane was initially released with the “Faction Unknown” designation. However, players who finish the additional story missions for her, released with the 1.1 update, will learn more about this enigmatic Thiren character.

Jane is an S-Rank Physical Anomaly-specialty agent who is briefly playable during her story missions, allowing players to try out her skills in advance. She has two states, her regular combat state and the “Passion” state, which alters her abilities and makes them more powerful. Her play style revolves around triggering Perfect Dodge, Defensive Assist, and dealing damage with her to build up her Passion Stream so she can use her Passion state.

Seth Will Be Released Alongside Jane Doe

A new A-Rank character,Seth, will be released alongside Jane Doe during phase 2 of the update. Seth is a white-haired cat Thiren man, featured in the new character stories for Jane Doe. He is part of the Criminal Investigation Special Response Team faction as a Public Security officer.

Seth is an A-Rank Electric Defense agent who is featured and briefly playable during Jane Doe’s story. His play style revolves around building up “Resolve,” which he uses to electrify his attacks and trigger additional quick assists from allies. Seth can provide a valuable shield buff to allies.

Zenless Zone Zero 1.1: All Phase One & Phase Two Banners

Zenless Zone Zero’s first major update, 1.1, comes with multiple new characters and weapons spread across different banners during the patch.

Officer Cui New Bangboo Has Been Released On The Bangboo Channel

TheZenless Zone Zeroupdate brings the first new Bangboo to the Bangboo Channel. The new Officer Cui Bangboo is a Public Security officer. Officer Cui is aPhysical-damage Bangboo that synergizes with Criminal Investigation Special Response Team characters.

Officer Cui is an S-Rank Bangboo. Players who want to pull for it will need to use Boopons in the Bangboo Channel. Unlike limited characters, Officer Cui will be available permanently in the Bangboo Channel. Players who set Officer Cui as their “designated” S-Rank Bangboo will receive at least one copy of Officer Cui per 80 draws.

“Undercover R&B” Special Mission Is Now Available

Players who are looking for more story content will be pleased to know that the new update brings a short story-related agent mission for Jane Doe. The “Undercover R&B” mission sequence expands upon the initial story and introduces new characters. Jane Doe, while not yet fully playable, is featured prominently in the missions and is briefly playable. Players will also see the new character Seth in the “Undercover R&B” missions. The new missions do not take long to complete. It would be overstating the size of the update to call it a full-story update forZenless Zone Zero. However, they give players a glimpse into the future, showing the lives and stories of newly released characters as well as familiar faces.
